Pursuit Kitchen

Pursuit Kitchen has three main talking points. One, culinary class for the youths and young adults ages 15-25. We pursue to empower our participants with essential cooking skills. Second point, salvaging rescue food by using as ingredients in the culinary classes. By incorporating these rescued ingredients into the culinary creations, the participants not only learn how to cook delicious and nutritious meals but also contribute to feeding the community. And the third objective: serving fresh and healthy meals to our community from our Pursuit Kitchen. The prepared meals are distributed to those in need, such as single mothers, homeless individuals, and seniors, with the help of our partnering organizations. This initiative not only provides practical skills to the participants but also addresses the issue of food insecurity in the community while fostering sustainability and environmental-friendly initiatives.

Culinary Class For Youth And Young Adults

Pursuit Kitchen pursues to empower young individuals between the ages 15-25 by giving them a hands-on culinary class for them to develop essential cooking skills. The class is divided into two levels: Basic and Intermediate. In the Basic Class, participants learn fundamental cooking techniques, kitchen safety, and nutrition basics. The Intermediate Class builds upon these skills, delving deeper into advanced cooking techniques, flavor profiles, and menu planning. Each class is structured to provide hands-on experience, allowing participants to practice and refine their culinary abilities. At the end of each class, a graduation ceremony is held, celebrated and congratulated by the community they have been serving, boosting their confidence and sense of accomplishment.

Rescue Food

An integral part of the Pursuit Kitchen is the focus on reducing food waste. In collaboration with our partners, we salvage rescue food and incorporate it as ingredients in the culinary classes. This approach not only teaches participants how to work with a variety of ingredients but also raises awareness about the importance of minimizing food waste. By utilizing rescued or surplus food items, we contribute to sustainable practices and environmental-friendly initiatives, promoting a more responsible approach to food consumption.

Serving And Feeding The Community

Another significant aspect of Pursuit Kitchen is serving fresh and healthy meals to the community from our culinary classes. The culinary class participants, under the guidance of experienced chefs, prepare these meals using their newly acquired cooking skills. The meals are then distributed to those in need, including single mothers, homeless individuals, and seniors, with the assistance of our partnering organizations. This initiative not only addresses the issue of food insecurity in the community but also ensures that those in need have access to nutritious and delicious meals. By providing practical skills to the participants and nourishing the community, we create a positive cycle of empowerment and support.
